Background on Kuwait’s National Day
Kuwait’s National Day is observed on February 25 to commemorate the accession of the late Sheikh Abdullah Al‑Salem Al‑Sabah, a key modernizing leader. It is one of the country’s principal national celebrations and is traditionally observed together with Liberation Day on February 26, which marks Kuwait’s liberation in 1991.
